Motech Americas Announces West Coast Installation of the YearPress Release: Motech Americas LLC – Wed, Mar 28, 2012 9:00 AM EDT
NEWARK, Del., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Motech Americas, a solar company with a 20-year heritage of manufacturing the highest quality solar panels, announced today that K2 Solar, Inc. (www.k2solar.com) has won their West Coast Installation of the Year award for its 420 kW DC solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the Frank Hagel Federal Building for the Social Security Administration in Richmond, California. For a project to qualify as a Motech Installation of the Year it must embody innovative design, quality workmanship, efficient installation and best-in-class safety practices.
K2 Solar, Inc. utilizing Motech IM60 240W solar modules manufactured in Delaware successfully completed the design and installation of a 420 kW DC solar photovoltaic (PV) system for the Social Security Administration (SSA) in Richmond, CA. The PV system consists of five solar carports in the main parking lot adjacent to the Frank Hagel Federal Building and includes four (4) electric vehicle charging stations. The system will produce over 560,000 kWh annually, providing approximately 15% of the peak energy demand of the building, and will save the SSA over $86K per year in energy costs.
"Given the quality and talent of Motech's installation customers and partners it was difficult to select one winner," stated Derick Botha, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Motech Americas. "K2's execution exemplified how a project should be delivered safely and efficiently, even under a very tight schedule. Many firms do not have the experience and focus on quality that K2 and Motech possess and we believe it is important to partner and promote the stronger players in the industry ultimately for the benefit of the end customer."
Motech will announce the winner of its east coast award on Earth Day 2012.
